Outreach & Activities
The Corporal Works of Mercy are an essential aspect in living Christianity. We offer a variety of
opportunities to do this, and students are encouraged to participate in whatever ways they are able.
Christian life involves conversion, a constant turning towards God and a continual examination of our
relationship to God, neighbor, and self. Many opportunities for prayer and reflection depend upon interest, so if
you would like to lead or participate, please let us know.
The Mass is the central prayer of the Church, and the Second Vatican Council proclaims that the "Eucharist is the
source and summit" of earthly Christian life. At Calvert House, there are numerous opportunities for you to help
at liturgies, in addition to opportunities for seasonal liturgical celebrations. Please contact us if you're
interested.
Calvert House hopes to be a friendly home-away-from-home by offering opportunities for friendly conversation,
good food, and profound fun. These events take some preparation, however, so if you're interested in making them
happen, let us know and we'll put you to work!
Though Calvert House is usually quiet during the summer months, the students who are here occasionally organize an
event. Each summer we also bring outside speakers for our own Theology on Tap series.
